My name is Joy and I live in Assonet, Massachusetts. Assonet is a village located in Freetown and is the next town over from Fall River. And yes, it is exciting living in Assonet! The pronounciation of my town can be tricky (uh-sew-net and not ass-ohn-net).
This website is mainly used for my work concerning the various branches of my family tree. Have been working on it for years and decided it is time to begin putting what I have online.
Am still researching and add to the tree almost daily, tapping into reams of information located in my files and on my hard drive. I also have a tree on ancestry.com and am slowly transferring information located there to this website. Additionally, I belong to the Manchester & Lancashire Family History Society. The folks who run the show "across the pond" and who belong to the email forum list are one of the nicest and most helpful bunch I have encountered. If you have ancestors from Manchester and Lancashire, England, I highly recommend you join. Membership is worth every penny.

Online I find lots of sites asking folks who feel they may be related to contact the site's owner. Sadly, only to find the vast majority of these websites are long abandoned, or one receives a curt reply, if one at all. However, I promise that if you write me enquiring about the families contained in this site, I will write you back. If I do not, it probably means I am dead. In addition to the mostly thumbnail size photos and documents found on this site, I have much larger images suitable for printing, census copies, grave photos, family photos, etc., which I will share, upon request. You will find little to no information here on "the living" other than entries such as "living surname." Did this to protect the privacy of those who are still on this side of the sod.
